Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:17
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”
Revelation 21:3-5
I was looking forward to this new year, 2013, because I was expecting some new things to happen. New things in my life, new things in the lives around me, new things in the Spirit working in and through us.
I want to learn new things this year, go new places, see new works of God, have a new relationship with Him, and I want to be new (fresh!) in Christ.
I want to see new healing, new faith, new joy and new growth in the hearts of kids and friends who I've been working among and praying for in the past year.
I want to see new relationships, also, and new friends coming to know the savior and lover of their souls. I want to see new empowerment and leadership in the church. I want to see new things happen here in Nepal. I want to see a new generation rise up in faith and power to take new territory for the Kingdom.
I want to see new things.
I have been praying for new things.
And I am expecting new things this year.
Yes, I am anticipating 2013 to bring lots of good new things. Because God is good, and because He is the one who has said, "I am making everything new!"
Praise to him who refreshes us daily, gives us a fresh start every time we need it, and makes us new as we remain in Christ.
He has new things he wants to do in me this year!
He has new things to teach me.
He has new work for me to do.
And He has new things in store for you, too.
Let's join in prayer and expectation of the new things God wants to work in and through and around us.
